Announcing the 2026-27 Young Composer-in-residence, Jaden Hart!

Hearing in Color is proud to announce the new face for the Hearing in Color Young Composer Residency, Jaden Hart! After reviewing many wonderful candidates with partners at La Caccina, Jaden was selected to take part in the 2026-27 season as the Young Composer-in-Residence. He will be working with La Caccina founder and Artistic Director Carling Fitzsimmons as well as a professional composing mentor to create a piece to be premiered in early 2027. We are so excited to see how Jaden tells his unique story through music this year.

Jaden Hart is a composer, performer, and educator based in Columbia & Charleston, South Carolina. He writes chamber and large works for short films, video games, and diverse ensembles, utilizing music as a means of storytelling. His music reflects his Black and Jamaican-American heritage, while marrying his love for R&B, contemporary classical, and experimental electronic genres. Read his full bio here!
