Introducing Abisola Toukourou

We are thrilled to welcome Abisola Toukourou, a sophomore in high school, as our 2025-2026 Hearing in Color Young Composer-in-Residence. Abisola believes in the beauty of letting people from all different backgrounds tell their stories through music, and this season, she’ll bring that vision to life in powerful new ways. 

The Hearing in Color Young Composer Residency is an immersive program for emerging composers, focused on writing for professional ensembles and artists in the Chicago area. This marks the fifth year of this powerful educational program, a collaboration with our partners at La Caccina.
